Som Tam

Som Tam is a Thai salad that’s made using green papaya (that is shredded), tomatoes, long beans, toasted peanuts plus a fish (soy) sauce and lime juice to finish. This isn’t any ordinary salad, the green papaya doesn’t make this dish sweet, it makes it sour. This striking flavor of sourness mixed with hotness makes it a very popular choice and an unforgettable experience.

Tom Kha Gai

Tom Kha Gai is a soup described as light and fragrant. The ingredients involve lemongrass, coconut milk, galangal, tomato, mushroom, onion, chicken and kaffir lime. This is not a very hot dish but has a unique taste. A lot of people will add some sticky rice to this soup to compliment it.

Thai Green/Red Curry

Green and red Thai Curry are one of the most well-known Thai dishes around. This curry is made with eggplant, leaves of basil, and a green or red curry paste (which is made from green or red chilies). The small green chilies used for the green paste are called bird’s-eye chili’s and are exceptionally hot. The red curry paste is made using medium heat dried red chilies, so isn’t as hot.
